Just got back from Colorado snowboarding at a few popular resorts and these locks worked as needed.I think it’s important to note, these are not supposed to be your main source of locking, it is very easy to bypass the code and it’s not the thickest lock, but what it DOES do is make would be thieves look for something easier to steal. It gave us piece of mind, and was small enough to keep in an inside pocket in my coat.The process to set the code was easy and straightforward and the lock worked in cold and wet conditions just fine. With so many people just leaving their gear out unprotected, having a little visual lock can make a big difference. At one point, my wife didn’t even lock it to the rack, just put the lock on her binding and figured it would visually work to deter thieves. Obviously that’s not recommended by the seller, but you get my point. Something is better than nothing and these little locks did what we needed; made our gear look too hard to bother trying to steal.I believe the seller mentions in the listing somewhere that this is a secondary lock to be used along side a strong chain or key lock etc, and I would agree, however if you just want to add a little piece of mind while you run into the bathroom or grab a beer for a minute, this lock can get it done.I knocked one star because even though it’s not supposed to be a main source of security, the fact that any flathead screwdriver shaped device can easily and quickly pop the lock without needing the code is definitely a design flaw. It wouldn’t even look suspicious since I lookers would just assume you are using a key on your own gear. I wish there was a bit more security to it. Someone could even prank you by quickly changing the code with nothing but a small flathead or metal key like the lock provides. But for our use, this wasn’t a major concern and I am still happy with the product
