Aloe “Brown Betty” – 1ga
$ 17.55
Aloe ‘Brown Betty’, a hybrid succulent plant originating from Madagascar, boasts striking foliage and unique flowering characteristics. Typically reaching 1 to 2 feet wide, its rosettes feature reddish-brown leaves with cream spots in winter, transitioning to mid-green with retained spots from spring through fall. Flowering in spring and fall, it produces delicate inflorescences with whitish yellow buds striped green, maturing into salmon-colored flowers with green petal tips. Developed by Karen Zimmerman of the Huntington Botanical Gardens, ‘Brown Betty’ is a result of a cross between Aloe ‘KG# 5’ and ‘Aumakua Mano’. Thriving in cool sun to light shade and requiring low water irrigation, this evergreen hybrid is moderately frost-tolerant, with a winter hardiness range of 25-30F. ‘Brown Betty’ is primarily grown for ornamental purposes, adding visual interest to landscapes whether cultivated in containers or planted in garden beds.
